Razer has launched a new arcade controller for PC and PlayStation 5, designed for those who prefer to control games using buttons instead of a traditional joystick. This choice might be favored especially when playing certain fighting games.
The new controller is called Kitsune and features four buttons intended for character movement, along with additional buttons for executing various punches, kicks, and more. Razer discusses the advantage of using buttons instead of joysticks to control character movement:
While there are several benefits, the main reason is that the 4 movement buttons on the Razer Kitsune allow for faster, more efficient execution with a lower degree of human error, as inputs are performed with simple button presses. With standard 8-way joysticks, shifting the stick too much or not enough could result in accidental or missed inputs, which affects your in-game performance.
The Razer Kitsune is available for purchase in a standard version for around $300. There are also two different versions with Street Fighter themes, shown in the image below, which each cost approximately $330.
