According to a report from Insider Gaming, Sony is working on a new handheld Playstation console, but it will not be a successor to the PSP or PS Vita.
Instead of being able to play games that are powered by the handheld device itself, it will primarily be used for Remote Play, to play Playstation 5 games. However, this is not cloud gaming, but rather the handheld device would be connected to one’s own PS5. Regardless, an internet connection would be required to use the device.
According to the rumors, the “Q Lite” would have an 8-inch LCD touchscreen that can handle gaming at 60fps at 1080p. The device is also said to have the same adaptive triggers as the DualSense controller. According to Insider Gaming, the device could be released in the coming year.
