Nintendo has announced that they will no longer provide new content for the mobile game Mario Kart Tour. This means that players will have to make do with the tracks, characters, and other content that has been released during the four years the game has been on the market.
Nintendo’s decision to stop updating Mario Kart Tour with new content has sparked some speculation. This speculation includes the possibility that Nintendo may be shutting down Mario Kart Tour, as well as the idea that Nintendo is ceasing development of mobile games altogether. Out of the eight mobile games Nintendo has released since 2016, including Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo has stopped updating five of them with new content.
Mario Kart Tour is reported to be Nintendo’s most profitable mobile game after Fire Emblem Heroes, according to VGC. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is Nintendo’s third most profitable game.
