In an interview with Axios, Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty stated that Microsoft’s game studios will no longer develop games for their previous console, Xbox One. Instead, all the focus now lies on developing new titles for Microsoft’s latest consoles, Xbox Series X and Series S.
For those who own an Xbox One, it will still be possible to play some new titles through Xbox Cloud Gaming, which means Xbox One owners don’t have to rush out and buy a new console if they are content with that option.
Last month marked ten years since Microsoft introduced the original version of Xbox One. Microsoft ceased selling the Xbox One in 2020 when they released the Xbox Series X and Series S.
