Larian managed to fulfill the promise to release Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox Series this year: the game also appeared for the Xbox on Friday. They possibly needed a little more time, as it seems that save files can disappear if the game crashes.

Therefore, Larian is now urging players to manually update their Xbox. Yes, the console – not just the game. Both the developer and Microsoft seem to have put together their own fixes to hopefully resolve the issue.

It might be wise to wait to play until a couple more patches have arrived, at least if you want to be on the safe side.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released for PC in August, for PS5 in September, and last week Xbox Series also got its turn. Despite some bugs and problems, it’s perhaps the most acclaimed game of the year, and it won the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards last Friday.
