Some Xbox users discovered last week that it was no longer possible to share clips from the game console to Twitter. Microsoft confirmed shortly thereafter that this was the case but did not say why the ability to share Xbox clips to Twitter was removed.
The reason it is no longer possible to share Xbox clips to Twitter is believed to be because Twitter has introduced fees for access to their APIs, the programming interfaces used, among other things, to share things to Twitter. Microsoft also removed Twitter integration for its advertising program last week.
Xbox users who still want to share clips to Twitter can do so by downloading the clip to the Xbox mobile app and then sharing the clip from there. A slightly more cumbersome way than sharing clips from Xbox to Twitter, in other words.
