This year, Switch owners will finally get a proper football game. While FIFA games have been released on Switch before, they were labeled as Legacy Editions. Essentially, these were stripped-down versions that, aside from roster updates, were nearly identical to the previous years’ versions. However, this changes now, and it will be the first time EA releases a FIFA game that is on par with the versions available on other platforms.
EA Sports FC 2024, the new name for the game after EA chose not to renew the FIFA name, marks a fresh start for the Switch version. For the first time, Switch owners will be able to experience the game in the Frostbite engine, and it will include Ultimate Team and VOLTA, as well as both men’s and women’s teams.
