The hype wasn’t exactly overwhelming before the release of Redfall, despite it being developed by the prestigious Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey). However, despite the low expectations, the game still managed to disappoint many players, and Xbox chief Phil Spencer admitted to feeling the same way.
The publisher for the game was Bethesda, and their Pete Hines recently discussed the game with Gamesindustry, where he pointed out that they are a company that has experienced game releases that didn’t go as planned before. He mentioned The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 as examples of underwhelming launches but said that they don’t abandon games and continue to work on them. The same applies to Redfall, which he believes will achieve 60 fps on Xbox and will become a good game in the end.
The question is whether Redfall can be salvaged or if the foundation is too shaky?
