Ayaneo, the Chinese company that has previously developed a couple of handheld PC consoles designed for gaming, has now released the specifications for their latest Steam Deck competitor, Ayaneo Kun.

Ayaneo Kun features an 8.4-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. This can be compared to the Steam Deck’s 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Kun is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7840U processor and comes with 16GB – 64GB of RAM and 512GB – 4TB of storage. It is also equipped with a 75Wh (19,500mAh) battery that Ayaneo claims can last for a little over 3 hours, almost double the battery life of the Steam Deck. Ayaneo Kun runs Windows, like many other Steam Deck competitors.

Of course, this level of performance doesn’t come cheap. The cheapest version of Ayaneo Kun, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, will cost around $1200. The most expensive version, with 64GB of RAM and 4TB of storage, will cost around $1950. These prices can be compared to the cheapest version of the Steam Deck (16GB of RAM + 64GB of storage) which costs around $400, and the most expensive version (16GB of RAM + 512GB of storage) which costs around $650.

If you join Ayaneo’s crowdfunding campaign for Kun, starting on IndieGoGo on September 5th, there’s a chance to get the handheld console for about $100 cheaper. Above are the prices for Ayaneo Kun, and below, Ayaneo’s own promotional video for Kun, and a more in-depth review of the console by YouTuber Taki Udon.
