Paramount+ has decided to cancel Star Trek: Discovery after the series’ fifth season. No direct reason for why the series is being cancelled has been made public, but one could guess that the series simply failed to capture a larger audience.

The fifth season of the series is soon to be completed and one can only hope that they manage to achieve a worthy ending so that fans are pleased. The fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery is expected to premiere sometime next year.

There is much adventure yet to come in season five – but today we share the bittersweet news that after 65 incredible episodes with Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery, the upcoming season premiering in early 2024 will be our last.

Star Trek: Discovery Seasons 1-4 are currently streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., the U.K., Switzerland, South Korea, Latin America, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, and Austria. Seasons 2 and 3 are also available on the Pluto TV Star Trek channel in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. In Canada, it airs on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and streams on Crave. Star Trek: Discovery is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
