After the merger of Discovery and Warner Bros., HBO Max has undergone various changes. Numerous movies and series have disappeared and been scrapped, and now the owners want to continue shaking things up. The HBO series “Insecure” is reportedly set to jump ship to the competitor Netflix, according to Deadline.
The publication states that both parties are also discussing whether more series will switch streaming services. Like the drastic cancellations and deletions in the HBO Max catalog, this move is yet another financial measure. However, HBO veterans are said to have opposed this idea, and the deal is not yet finalized.
The series moving to Netflix will not be exclusive to the streaming service, though. The plan is that shows like “Insecure” will still be available for streaming on HBO Max. Previously, streaming services have been very hostile towards each other, and a former CEO compared Netflix to the Albanian army.
A remarkably peculiar comparison, but now it seems that the competitors are getting along better.
