Netflix has experienced its four largest days of user growth in the USA since Antenna began measuring the performance of the streaming service four and a half years ago.

The increase occurred after Netflix announced to subscribers in the USA that they would begin limiting password sharing on May 23, 2023. According to the latest available data, Netflix saw nearly 100,000 daily registrations on May 26 and 27. During this four-day period, the average daily registrations on Netflix reached 73,000, which is a 102 percent increase from the average of the previous two months. This surpasses the peaks in registrations that Antenna observed during the Covid-19 lockdowns in March and April 2020.

It’s also worth mentioning that cancellations of the service increased during this period, but not to the same extent as registrations. The ratio between registrations and cancellations since May 23 has increased by 25.6 percent compared to the previous 60-day period.
