LoveFrom, the new design studio of former Apple designer Jony Ive, has collaborated with the hi-fi brand Linn to create the Sondek LP12-50 turntable, which will only be produced in 250 units.
Apple will probably never make a turntable, so this is as close as we can get. According to a blog post by Linn’s CEO Gilad Tiefenbrun, the collaboration began in early 2022 when Tiefenbrun was offered a meeting with Ive via LinkedIn.
Eventually, both companies decided to collaborate on the upcoming turntable, which Fast Company refers to as Ive’s ‘first hardware project after Apple.’ If you’re eager to get a Sondek LP12-50, you’ll need to open your wallet wide as the price tag reaches £50,000.
