In a press release issued by Apple during its developer conference WWDC, where they introduced tvOS 17 for Apple TV, Apple mentioned that developers will have the ability to release VPN apps for Apple TV.

This means that those who enjoy watching streaming services that may not be available in their region, will have the opportunity to do so. It also enables users who wish to conceal from their internet service provider which services they access via Apple TV.

For businesses and others using Apple TV for video conferencing, a VPN connection may be necessary if the user needs to connect to the company’s internal network for the video conference. Apple will release tvOS 17 for Apple TV sometime in the fall.
