Apple has recently filed a patent for a new type of Apple AirPods case that may feature a built-in display and controls, according to reports. The case could potentially function similarly to Apple’s iPods, with users able to use Siri to load apps onto the display.
While current AirPods cases simply store the user’s AirPods, Apple believes that there is a need for a headphone case that can convey information to the user through haptic feedback and/or a display on the case’s face. Some embodiments of the case may feature a touch-sensitive display, a graphical user interface, one or more processors, memory, and multiple functions. It remains to be seen if this innovative product will be released by Apple in the coming years. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
