IBM has launched a new platform for companies that want to develop and train artificial intelligence.

The new form is called “WatsonX,” a new brand based on IBM’s Watson brand, which it previously used for supercomputers and artificial intelligence. IBM writes about its latest AI initiative:

With watsonx, IBM is offering an AI development studio with access to IBM-curated and trained foundation models and open-source models, access to a data store to enable the gathering and cleansing of training and tuning data, and a toolkit for governance of AI into the hands of businesses that will provide a seamless end-to-end AI workflow that will make AI easier to adapt and scale.

WatsonX will compete with other similar services, including AI Foundations that Nvidia presented earlier this year. In the video below, you can check out an interview with IBM’s software chief Rob Thomas, where he talks a little more about WatsonX.
