Musk revealed yesterday a bit more about what his new AI company, X.AI, has planned. Just as has been speculated in recent days, it is about a generative AI that will answer questions and other things in text form.

Musk told Fox News that the upcoming AI will be called “TruthGPT” and that it will stick to the truth, something he believes OpenAI’s ChatGPT does not do. In the interview, Musk said, among other things:

I’m going to start something which I call ‘TruthGPT’, or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe.

Musk also said in the interview that ChatGPT has been trained to deceive its users and repeated his earlier criticism of OpenAI, a company he believes has gone from contributing to open AI development to now running a for-profit business with Microsoft.

Musk admitted during the interview that his initiative to create yet another generative chatbot is a bit late. When we might see TruthGPT remains to be seen. Above is the entire segment from Fox News, where their host Tucker Carlson interviews Elon Musk.
