The AI-powered news app, Artifact, has released a new feature that allows users to quickly get a summary of what a news article is about. The service has been described as “TikTok for news.”

You can see an example of what it looks like in the service’s mobile app above, where Artifact has used an AI-based function to summarize an article from the American tech site The Verge. Users can also choose from different types of summaries, such as “Explain Like I’m Five,” a summary in poetic form, and a summary that only uses emojis.

The service Artifact was launched by the Instagram founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. The service uses an AI algorithm to collect individual news feeds for each user. Artifact’s app is available for free download on iOS from the App Store and on Android from Google Play.
