Apple analyst Marc Gurman writes for the news agency Bloomberg that Apple has started using a ChatGPT-like AI internally.
The AI assistant doesn’t have an official name but has been referred to as both “Ajax” and “AppleGPT” before. According to Gurman, Apple’s employees use AppleGPT to brainstorm prototypes for new features and to summarize texts and responses based on data that the AI has been trained on. Furthermore, he writes that Apple may develop a commercial service based on AppleGPT, which Apple could showcase sometime next year.
Apple doesn’t seem to have decided exactly how they plan to use their chatbot yet. However, there is speculation that it could be integrated into Apple’s smart assistant Siri. Additionally, it is said to be useful for Apple’s support staff when assisting Apple’s customers.
