During today’s Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung showcased its latest smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 6. It is released in two different models, Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, with the latter being surrounded by a rotating ring to control certain watch functions. This was a feature that Samsung removed in the Galaxy Watch 5 but is now back again.
The watches come in two different sizes with AMOLED displays measuring 1.31 and 1.47 inches. The screens have a resolution of 431×431 pixels and 480×480 pixels, respectively, compared to the Galaxy Watch 5’s resolution, which was 450×450 pixels.
The watch is equipped with sensors to track sleep and the user’s pulse. The battery life is reported to be up to 40 hours if the watch is used in the always-on mode. The watches are powered by an Exynos W930 processor, have 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. They are also IP68-rated, which means they are waterproof and can be used underwater. The watches are available with Bluetooth connectivity only or with Bluetooth and 4G mobile connectivity.
