SpaceX founder Elon Musk stated over the weekend that the company’s new spacecraft, Starship, and its super-heavy rocket, Super Heavy, are now ready for their first unmanned space mission. However, before that can happen, SpaceX needs permission from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US aviation authority, to launch the 120-meter-high vehicle from the ground.

If SpaceX is granted permission by the FAA, the company plans to send Starship into space on April 17. Musk tweeted yesterday, though, that it might be a few days later.

During SpaceX’s upcoming test, the company plans to send Starship into space with the help of Super Heavy. After that, Starship is supposed to orbit the Earth before landing somewhere north of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean.
