April is a historic month for the internet. This April Amazon turned 21, the first Skype message was 13 years old, and the first YouTube video turned 11 years old only last Saturday.
If these sites were people, YouTube would have mastered the art of reading, Skype would be starting to feel hormonal, and Amazon could probably be sitting its undergraduate finals.
The folks at SSLs have created an infographic that presents a fascinating timeline of all the most important ‘internet firsts’.
It’s amazing to think how much these sites shape the media landscape we interact with on a daily basis, regardless of how young they really are. On the flip-side it’s also incredible to consider just how old this ‘new’ digital technology is getting.
The data have been theft from http://www.factsnfakes.in/famous-internet-firsts-infographic/ (published almost two years back ) even without giving them credits. A big companies always get benefits and a real hero who had put so much efforts to make this, always stay behind the drape. #shame
