Relativity Space’s 3D-printed rocket was supposed to be launched into Earth’s orbit last night, but the engines stopped working during the launch process.
At first, the rocket’s engines started, but before it could lift off, they were shut down, which means it didn’t get very far. The rocket company has not announced why the engines failed to stay on during the launch, and it’s unclear when they will attempt again.
85 percent of this rocket is built from parts made by 3D printers, which is supposed to be a more cost-effective way of manufacturing rockets.
