It’s getting closer now. Bethesda’s Starfield is set to release on September 6th (September 1st with the Deluxe edition or higher), and if you want to dig into the game’s world, there’s some material available. A couple of weeks ago, a set of short animated clips were released, showing what life could be like in Starfield. And now, it’s time for a history lesson.
On the official website, there’s now a section called “The story so far…” which starts in the year 2050 and runs up to 2328, which is two years before the game’s actual beginning. The timeline showcases events like the first arrival on Mars in 2050 and the founding of the game’s largest city, New Atlantis, in 2160.
We also see how the various factions in the game compete for star systems and that the organization Constellation, which the player is a part of, is founded in 2275 by Sebastian Banks with the purpose of unraveling the galaxy’s mysteries.
It’s not exactly an encyclopedia, but it provides at least a basic overview of what has happened before the start of the game.
