The next expansion for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV is titled Dawntrail. The expansion is set to be released next summer and is inspired by South America.

Players will get to visit the continent of Tural, and Yoshi-P (Naoki Yoshida) describes the expansion as a great summer vacation for the Warriors of Light.

Based on the brief trailer, Dawntrail appears to be a more positive and brighter expansion compared to Endwalker. Many of the influences seem to come from Final Fantasy 10 and Spira. With Dawntrail, players will have access to new dungeons and raids, and along with that, there will be a plethora of new equipment and recipes. Dawntrail will also come with a significant graphics update, featuring higher resolution, improved lighting and shadows, and more detailed environments.

The expansion will also raise the level cap to 100 and introduce two new jobs. While the names of the jobs were not revealed, they will be DPS-focused, with one being a melee job and the other a caster job. Worth noting is that during the presentation, Yoshida took off his jacket to reveal a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt. Could this be a hint at a cameo from our beloved ninja turtles?

Players can look forward to embarking on this exciting new adventure in Dawntrail, exploring the wonders of Tural and discovering what lies ahead for the Warriors of Light. So, mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable journey in the world of Final Fantasy XIV!
