Released in 1996, Broken Sword quickly became a beloved addition to the adventure game genre. Apart from various ports, it has also received several sequels over the years, but it’s been over a decade since we last saw anything new from the series.
That’s about to change, and in a double sense. First, a remaster of the original game called Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged has been announced, and there’s also an entirely new installment in the story. Broken Sword Parzival’s Stone will be the sixth game in the series, once again following George Stobbart and Nico Collard.
Initially, they’re only investigating a medieval manuscript, but naturally, things take a darker turn. The remaster is set to arrive early next year, while the new game is expected sometime in 2024.
