Last night, Bungie unveiled its upcoming expansion for Destiny 2. The expansion is named The Final Shape and will be the concluding expansion in Destiny’s “Light and Darkness” saga.

In The Final Shape, players will venture into The Traveler, the massive celestial sphere that has been central to Destiny’s storyline since time immemorial. The expansion will also introduce a new enemy type called Enforcers, villains who can wield both Stasis and Strand powers. Of course, the expansion will also include new weapons, new abilities for all classes, and other exciting content.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape | Reveal Trailer

The Final Shape is scheduled for release on February 27, 2024. Following The Final Shape, Bungie will cease the annual release of major expansions and switch to a focus on fewer but larger updates per year. This means that instead of four seasons annually, Bungie will launch three episodes lasting 18 weeks each, comprising three acts. Each act will include new missions and items to maintain player engagement. Bungie notes that these episodes will be more standalone, allowing players to experience them in any order.

Speaking of Destiny 2, Bungie will be reviving the classic Crota’s End raid, and a trailer for it can be viewed below.
