During Gamescom, we got glimpses of Space Marine 2, but it mostly consisted of stitched-together sequences of questionable quality. Now, however, Focus Entertainment has blessed us with a dedicated video showcasing nine uninterrupted minutes of gameplay in high quality.
The main character is, of course, Titus, accompanied here by his companions Chairon and Gadriel as they take on the Tyranids on the planet Avarax. We witness a calmer transport section that truly captures Saber Interactive’s success in portraying the equally gloomy and impressive architecture of Warhammer 40,000’s Imperium. But the calm doesn’t last, as it erupts into battle against hordes of Tyranids in a square. If you watch all the way to the end, you’ll also catch a glimpse of the game’s environmental variety.
The frame rate struggles in certain moments, and we hope that Saber manages to optimize the game before its release in the winter. Something that could potentially assist with that is the game’s beta test, which you can sign up for here.
