VINDSTYRKA is a new and affordable air sensor from Ikea that can measure air quality in the smart home. If you feel heavy-headed or irritated in the respiratory system, there is a risk that the air in your home may not be as clean and clear as it seems. If that’s the case, you can now easily check without spending a fortune.
Ikea’s new air quality sensor, Vindstyrka, makes it possible to measure and monitor the level of polluting particles in the air. The most harmful pollutants (PM2.5) are less than 2.5 micrometers in size and cannot be seen with the naked eye. Vindstyrka has a display that shows PM2.5 levels, humidity, temperature, and TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds), which is a measure of pollution level from various gaseous pollutants.
When the sensor is connected to Ikea’s smart home hub, it is possible to see the air quality levels directly in the Ikea Home app.
Knowing that something is wrong, but not being able to do anything about it, only causes stress and (more) gray hairs. That’s why Ikea also has air purifiers in stock. Starkvind is one such purifier, and it can be connected to Vindstyrka so that the fan speed automatically adjusts according to the amount of PM2.5 in the air, ensuring that the air in the home is always as clean as the purifier can make it.
VINDSTYRKA is available in Ikea stores and online from April 1, 2023.
