Google’s AirTag challenger doesn’t seem to be far off now, as the tracker now appears to have a name and icon. Hidden deep inside Google’s Material Icons catalog on the Google Fonts website, Neil Rahmouni has found a new icon for a product called Nest Locator Tag, which is likely to be Google’s upcoming tracker.
In the icon, we see a device resembling Apple’s AirTag and Google’s own Nest Tag for the now-defunct Nest Secure home alarm. However, there is a separate dedicated Nest Tag section on the Material Icons page, so it is clear that these are two separate products.
It is unclear if we will see this product now during Google I/O or later this year.
