August is right around the corner, and if you’re a college or university student that doesn’t live at home, it means it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll need for school – and for your dorm room. Here are some cool gadgets that won’t guarantee you’ll make the honor roll, but they’ll certainly make the next school year easier to bear.
Maxi-Matic’s multifunction 3-in-1 deluxe breakfast center
The EBK-1782 multifunction breakfast center is ideal for small spaces thanks to its compact design. It includes a 4 cup capacity coffee maker which allows you to pour a cup mid-brew, a five hundred watt toaster oven with a thirty minute timer and a 10.5 inch griddle that’s perfect to cook eggs, breakfast links or bacon. It can be challenging to get a good breakfast in a dorm room, but with this little gem, you can wake up in style. You can order one for $70 here. Alternatively, you can get the non-deluxe version that features a six inch griddle here.
HP’s Envy 5540 wireless printer
In addition to being small (always a plus for a dorm room), the Envy 5540 allows you to print directly from your smartphone or tablet, which is mighty convenient in this day and age. The all-in-one device also lets you scan and copy documents, send faxes and can even print double sided documents, which means you’ll be able to save on paper costs. Also, the planet will thank you. You can get yours here for $69.99.
Cuisinart’s CPK-17 kettle
You’re a student. You’re broke. You will be living off of Ramen noodles and coffee (or tea). Investing in a good, reliable kettle is a smart move. At $99.95, this kettle is more expensive than most, but there’s a reason for that. The wireless kettle has six temperature presets – if you’re a tea drinker, you already know that different kinds of tea release ultimate flavors at different temperatures. It also has a french press preset for perfect coffee every time, and keeps the water at the desired temperature for a full 30 minutes, meaning you don’t have to wait for the water to reheat in between cups. My college days are behind me, but I wouldn’t mind one of these myself. Go here to buy one or for more information.
There are plenty more cool gadgets for back to school, but these in particular stood out for me. And that breakfast center will make you the coolest person on campus.
