Prime Video has several exciting premieres lined up for July. First up is Guy Ritchie’s “The Covenant” from 2023, which many action fans out there will surely appreciate. It’s a gripping story about an Afghan interpreter who risked his life to save the life of an American soldier during the war in Afghanistan.
“The Covenant” – Premieres on July 2.
In Guy Ritchie’s “The Covenant,” we follow US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Afghan interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). After an unexpected attack, Ahmed does everything he can to save Kinley’s life. When Kinley later learns that Ahmed and his family did not receive the promised safe passage to America, he must return to the war zone to bring them back to safety away from the Taliban.
“The Horror of Dolores Roach” (S1) – Premieres on July 7.
“The Horror of Dolores Roach” is based on the Spotify hit and podcast series of the same name. It’s a tale of love, betrayal, and cannibalism inspired by “Sweeney Todd.” After 16 years in prison, Dolores Roach (Justina Machado) is released and returns to a gentrified Washington Heights. She reunites with her old friend Luis (Alejandro Hernandez) and starts working as a masseuse in his basement. But when the promise of newfound stability is suddenly threatened, Dolores must take extreme measures to survive.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” (S2) – Premieres on July 14.
Belly (Lola Tung) used to count the days until she would return to Cousins Beach. But with both Conrad and Jeremiah vying for her heart and Susannah’s cancer relapse, she is unsure if the summers there will ever be the same. When an unexpected visitor suddenly poses a threat to Susannah’s beloved house, Belly needs to rally the group and finally decide where her heart truly lies.
“Good Omens” (S2) – Premieres on July 28.
In “Good Omens,” we continue to witness the friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel, and the intense demon Crowley (David Tennant). After being on Earth since its creation and with the apocalypse behind them, the duo is set to return to the simple life among ordinary mortals in London’s Soho district. But suddenly, the guardian angel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) unexpectedly appears at Aziraphale’s bookstore without any memory of who he is or how he got there.
