When traveling, whether for business or leisure, it's always important to gather the gadgets you'll need for your trip. Some are essential, some are fun, but forgetting any of them can make for an unpleasant trip. For the sake of being obvious, we'll assume that you don't forget your laptop or cell phone. Here are some of the less-obvious gadgets that you may want to consider when traveling.

Below we have included a list of applications that we have tested extensively and found to be of the highest quality. This collection is certainly not meant to serve as a comprehensive listing of the best software, but it focuses on a few of the applications we believe to be very high quality in their corresponding categories. Much like the list of recommended Firefox extensions, this collection is a live list, that will be adjusted over time.

As most here will know, GPU is short for graphics processing unit, a piece of hardware that is dedicated to rendering graphics. Years ago, when the personal computer first found its way into homes, dedicated GPUs did not exist. All graphics were displayed and manipulated by the CPU (the central processing unit). As a result, only primitive images could be displayed, without performance issues. It wasn’t until the 1980s that the first dedicated GPU was invented.

We have compiled a list of what we consider to be the best extensions for Firefox. When evaluating extensions for recommendation, not only do we consder the functionality and features of the extension, but we also test to ensure it works well with all the other extensions we recommend.

As we utilize more and more electronic devices in the digital home, controlling them becomes an important issue. No one wants to keep up with or sort through a dozen different remotes for various devices in a home entertainment system and surrounding electronic equipment. The Logitech Harmony Universal Remote Control is the perfect solution.

After an extensive review of online backup services, we have determined the all-around best online backup service for those serious about online backup protection. Criteria for this evaluation included data transfer speed, software features, service capabilities, etc.

The ioDrive from Fusion-io was announced quite some time back, with specifications and information on the product. However, Windows drivers were not available until recently, and the product was not readily available for purchase until today. DVNation has become the Internet's exclusive distributor for the ioDrive.
