Earlier this year Lenovo released their ThinkPad X300, a great notebook for the business minded. Recently, the X300 has been updated to the ThinkPad X301 model. With many improvements from its already great predecessor, you can expect great things from the X301.

Whether you love or hate Apple, you must admit that the iPhone revolutionized cell phones as we know them today. Before the 1st generation iPhone hit the market, the top selling phone for the past three years was the Motorola RAZR. However, not too long ago, the iPhone and Apple enjoyed monumental achievement by becoming the best selling phone in the third-quarter of 2008.

Recently memory giant SanDisk unveiled a method that can be used to achieve a drastic improvement in reliability and performance for SSDs by using an advanced flash file system created solely for solid state drives, called ExtremeFFS. ExtremeFFS is a next generation, patented flash management system. With the capability of accelerating random write speeds up to 100x in existing systems, Extreme FFS will feature in SanDisk’s products in 2009.

The Quadro Plex 2200 is not an average consumer platform in any sense, and you're not likely to find it in or around many hardcore gaming enthusiasts’ vicinity. However, it's such a powerful and unique setup that it deserves the attention of the masses. While we're familiar with the Quadro branch of NVIDIA, which designs machines like this for high-end imaging businesses (3D design, CAD, etc.), what makes the Quadro Plex 2200 special is the use of two or four state of the art NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 GPUs for an 8GB or 16GB memory capacity (frame buffer) as a ready-made solution.

Building on the success of the Archos 605 WiFi, Archos has now released the new Archos 5 portable media player. The units feature a new, faster Texas Instruments central processor, a larger screen (exceptional quality), touch-screen operation, vivid colors, up to 720p resolution, plugin support (most cost extra), and more in a simple, intuitive design.

Displaylink USB video technology introduced the possibility of secondary USB monitors to the technology community. ASUS has now successfully extended this technology to create a unique product, the ASUS UFOTO, which combines the functionality of a photo frame and a secondary monitor. It is a 7" monitor that allows a high resolution display of up to 800x400 pixels (720x480 viewing area).

Western Digital has released the new WD TV external HD media player that works in conjunction with one or two external hard drives to playback video, audio, and view photos at up to full high definition quality (1080p).
